Programme Descriptions

London Teenager Residential LTR

Students live on campus in single en suite rooms. Staff are resident in the same block. All meals are taken on campus except excursion day. There is a choice of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including a vegetarian option and other special diets such as gluten free. Halal meat is available. Classes take place in the morning and there are afternoon and evening activities or excursions every day.

Arrivals are on Sundays, departures on Saturdays.

What is included
Full board residential accommodation, registration, tuition, materials, certificates, travel, activity programme and weekly excursions, supervision by resident staff and medical and travel insurance.

What is not included
Transfers from airports or stations, incidental expenses and pocket money, damage deposit (£40, payable on arrival), optional musical or concert and dinner off-campus on Saturday nights.

Location

Westminster University, Marylebone Campus, is in central London in the beautiful and fashionable Marylebone area. Many of London’s leading attractions are within walking distance. Madam Taussauds is opposite and Regent’s Park less than 5 minutes away.

Oxford Street and all the many attractions of London’s West End are about 15 minutes’ walk. The immediate local area is full of attractive boutiques, cafes and restaurants. There is a well-known museum and a weekly street market.

Students stay in single or twin en-suite rooms on the universitycampus and get to experience the British university lifestyle in one of the UK’s top universities.

Campus

The university building is spacious with large well-equipped classrooms and common areas. There is a canteen and an outside terrace. Accommodation is on campus in single or twin en-suite rooms. There is 24 hour security.

Maximum of 70 residential students and 20 day school, students so close supervision and personal attention is guaranteed.

Programme Details

  • English Language Programme of 20 lessons of 45 minutes a week – focus is on spoken English, with structured language input, and a skills session for everyday English conversation, talking about sport or fashion.
  • There are also workshops of 4 lessons of 45 minutes every Tuesday afternoon.
  • Workshops, visits and excursions are related to the options: Discover London, Fashion, Art & Design, and Sports Fan.
  • Optional Young Leader workshop weekly.
  • Action-packed activity programme.
  • Evening activities on and off campus including visits to shopping centres and West End shows.
  • Weekly full day excursions take place in the London area or nearby where there is a wealth of attractions such as a river trip to Greenwich and a bus or train journey to Windsor or Brighton.

Example Workshops and Visits

DISCOVER LONDON – sightseeing (London’s top attractions), museum visits (British Museum, Science Museum), British culture (including afternoon tea).

FASHION, ART AND DESIGN – department store visit, street markets, fashion and design museums, student fashion show and photo shoot.

SPORTS FAN – tour of Chelsea or Arsenal stadium, climbing wall, Wimbledon Tennis Museum, football and baseball in the park.

YOUNG LEADER – team building, public speaking, presenting ideas, debating.

Free Time

Students of aged 16 and 17, with parental permission, may leave the campus in pairs or small groups after dinner until evening activities start. An example week can be seen below.
